A few months after graduating college and moving into a garage apartment, I began to nurture a small garden. It was then that I recognized my opportunity to participate in the creation of something beautiful, and I’ve loved gardening ever since. After a few years,
I began to paint the wonders of that and many subsequent gardens. Then, twelve years ago, I fell in love with using the camera to capture
the unexpected and often hidden beauty of the gifts of nature: the plants, the creatures and the rocks that inhabit my gardens and
the woods that surround my home.

Soon I began photographing during my travels, and no place was more special than being in the Smoky Mountains. Hikes and backpacking
trips provided days and nights of heat, cold and rain, yet my memories
of those times are filled with the extraordinary beauty of the Smokies and special times with family and friends who traveled the trails
with me. Sleepy woods filled with sunlight or mist, unexpected vistas
of layered smoky-blue mountain ranges, intriguing assortments of
both small and large critters and exquisite and often hidden
blossoms all welcomed me in every season.

In 2011 I began creating the Still Point I & Still Point II
dvd series using my photographs of the Smokies and my
Gardens synchronized with beautiful & soothing music.
They are designed to bring calm and quiet through the
beauty of nature & music. Chapters are marked so you
can watch as much or as little as your time allows.
In 2014, I began creating Mindful Meditations in
Nature 1, 2, & 3 with the same goal: to bring calm and
quiet through the exquisite beauty of nature and music.
Meditations 1 & 2 have 6 five minute videos taken in the
Smokies, my Garden, St George Island and seasons across
Tennessee. Meditation 3 has animal life in the woods,
the zoo, the aquarium, the lakes and streams.

All sales fund gifts (sets of 5 DVDs) to organizations and agencies that help others such as Memory Care Centers, Assisted Living Residences, Treatment Centers,, Agencies that Advocate for
Abused or Homeless Women and especially Veterans Groups.
